Vilma E. Klingshirn, 80, Enjoyed travel, gardening and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren
Vilma E. Klingshirn (nee Horwedel), 80, of Avon, passed away Saturday, January 18, at St. John West Shore Hospital, following complications of pneumonia. Mrs. Klingshirn was born, December 11, 1922 in Avon Lake and had been a life long area resident.Mrs. Klingshirn had worked for General Industries in the factory during the 1940's, she then was a homemaker and worked the family farm. She was a 1940 graduate of Avon Lake High School. She was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Avon, where she was a member of the Alter and Rosary Guilds and the Mission Circle. She enjoyed travel, gardening and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Her husband of 54 years, Charles P. passed away June, 2002. She is survived by a son, Bruce Klingshirn and a daughter, Susan Spaetzel both of Avon; seven grandchildren, Brian, Sarah and Jessica Klingshirn and Katie, Nicole, Carl and Kurt Spaetzel; and a sister, Hildred Carmon of Avon. Besides her husband, Mrs. Klingshirn is preceded in death by infant son, Dale (1951); a sister Elizabeth Rockstroch and brother Lester "Bud" Horwedel; infant grandson Ryan Spaetzel and parents, Fred and Susan (nee Conrad) Horwedel.
Friends may call at the BUSCH-BURMEISTER FAMILY CHAPEL, 32000 Detroit Rd., Avon from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday. Prayer Services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, January 21 at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2640 Stoney Ridge Rd. Avon at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Thomas Cleaton will officiate. Burial will follow at the St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery, Avon.
