Photo of Ova E. Green Ova E. Green, 65 of Vermilion, died Saturday, January 18, 2003 in his home after a lengthy illness. He was born March 2, 1937 in Paintsville, KY and moved to the Lorain area in 1960. He has been a Vermilion resident for the past 12 years.

He worked as an Operator for National Gypsum Company in Lorain for 40 years retiring in 1999. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Vermilion. He enjoyed fishing, watching baseball, gardening, and had also enjoyed bowling.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Emma (nee Lemaster) of Vermilion, son John Green of Vermilion, sister Phyllis Stapleton of Stambaugh, KY, 2 grandsons Ryan and Michael, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Ira and Goldia Mae (nee Castle) Green, 2 sons; Jeffrey in 1981 and Robert in 1986; and 2 brothers: Ray and Gary Green.

Friends may call Sunday January 19, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH. A funeral service will be held Monday January 20, 2003 at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH at 11:00 am. Pastor Rod Hollen, interim pastor of the First Baptist Church, Vermilion, will officiate. Friends may also call Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at the Jones Preston Funeral Home, 807 S. Mayo Trail, Paintsville, Kentucky, from 2-9 pm. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 22 at 11:00 am at Marvin Sparks Cemetery in Blaine, KY.
