Louis Dominguez, Jr., 73, U.S. Army Veteran

He was born April 10, 1929 in Lorain, Ohio and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident. He attended Lorain High School.

Mr. Dominguez served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a medic.

He worked at Thew Shovel, Ford and US Steel all in Lorain and at Metokote in Sheffield Village before retiring.

He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain. He enjoyed bowling, sports and working in his yard.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anne Dominguez (nee Bailey), daughter Kelly Bradesku of Amherst, granddaughter Kristen Bradesku, grandson Ryan Bradesku; sisters Marcella "Rose" Belch and Eleanor Gonzalez, both of Lorain; brothers: Lupe Dominguez of Lorain, Joseph Dominguez of Las Vegas, Nevada and Martin Dominguez of Seattle, Washington and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis & Josephine (nee Gonzalez) Dominguez, Sr., infant son Eric Dominguez, sisters Frances "Margie" Maloy and Laura Espitia and brothers Frank Dominguez and Manuel Dominguez.

Friends may call Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. There will be no prayer services in the funeral chapel on Tuesday. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave., Lorain. The Rev. John Kline, pastor emeritus of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and the Rev. Mr. Robert Dybo, deacon of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain where the Disabled American Veterans Post #20 will conduct military honors.
