John Daniel Healy Jr., 71, Enjoyed bowling, cooking, traveling, and building homes

John Daniel Healy Jr., age 71, of Sandusky and formerly of Grafton passed away Thursday January 16, 2003 in Firelands Community Hospital after a brief illness. He was born April 6, 1931 in Roseville PA., living in the Lorain County area for 46 years.

Before moving to Sandusky in 1993, Mr. Healy was employed by Abex as an electrician for many years. Mr. Healy is a veteran of U.S. Army, and served during the Korean War. He is a life member of Hinkson-Hysell VFW Post #3341 in Grafton where he served as Post Commander for 2 years. He was also a member of the Military Order of the Cooties, Pup Tent #45 in North Ridgeville. He also belonged to the Grafton Pot Luck Bowling League, and his hobbies included cooking, building homes & traveling.

He is survived by 3 Daughters Barbara (Bobbie) Curbitt of Elizabeth, West Virginia, Patricia Hunter of South Amherst, Ohio, Mary Moran of Elyria, Ohio, 2 Sons John W. Healy of Lorain, Ohio and Michael Healy of Oberlin, Ohio, 20 Grand Children & 2 great grand children, 4 Sisters Mary Murtimer, Joan Winklbaur, Ceil Cashdollar & Katherine Murray all of Pennsylvania. He is proceeded in death by his wife Barbara Lou (Potts), 2 Grand Sons John & Brandon Healy, Brothers Patrick & Robert Healy, & sisters Rose & Ann.

Friends may call in the Blackburn Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton Monday from 2-4 & 7:00pm until time of service at 8:00pm. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery Grafton.
