Jerry Don Hamby, 53, Enjoyed playing the slot machines, cars, his dog Rowdy, and being with his grandkids
Jerry Don Hamby, 53, of Sheffield Lake, passed away, Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at University Hospital, Cleveland, following a lengthy illness.Mr. Hamby was born, December 18, 1949 in Pelham, TN and had lived most of his life in Lorain. He had worked as a millwright for LTV Steel and was a Vietnam War Army Veteran.
He enjoyed gambling, especially playing slot machines, cars, his dog Rowdy, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Hamby is survived by three sons: Darin (Darla) of Sheffield Lake, Jerrell (Karry) of Sheffield Village and Jason of Sheffield Lake; a daughter Amie White (Jimmy) of Key West, FL. Other survivors include 16 grandchildren, three brothers: Louie of Lorain, Burch of Madison Heights, MI and Burl of Lorain; sisters Lela Miller of Vermilion and Melba Roelke of Lorain. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmo Wayne and Pauline (nee Smart) Hamby; a brother Paul and a sister Gwendolyn.
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Thursday, January 16, 2003 from 5:00-9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be at the Funeral Home, Friday at 11:00 pm, Rev. Dale Hawes of the Wings of Faith Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH.
