Alfred Olson, 76, Enjoyed Birdwatching

Alfred Olson, age 76, of Lorain died Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at Ohio Extended Care Center. He was born April 17, 1926 in Lorain and has been a lifetime resident.

Mr. Olson was a millwright at U.S. Steel Corp. and retired in 1985 having worked for the corporation for 40 years.

He was also a WWII Navy Veteran and Korean War Air Force Veteran. Mr. Olson also attended First Evangelical Lutheran Church and a member of Mullen & Murray Post 451 VFW. He was also a former member of the Lorain Elks. Mr. Olson also enjoyed birdwatching.

Survivors include his son Thomas Olson of Elyria. Preceded in death are his wife Grace Olson in 1993, sister June Huttinger and parents Emil and Clara Olson.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home located at 2920 Broadway in Lorain. The funeral will be held Thursday, January 16 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating is Rev. Jimmy Madsen with a military service provided by the VFW Mullen & Murray Post 451. The cemetery is located at the Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
