Juan P. Cabrera, 77, Retired from Lorain Ford Plant
Juan P. Cabrera, age 77, of Lorain and Houston, Texas, died on Thursday, January 9, 2003 in Houston, Texas, following a sudden illness.He was born on November 17, 1925 in Houston, Texas, where he spent his winters after his retirement.
He was a member of House of Praise Church, Lorain.
Juan was employed at the Lorain Ford Plant for 27 years, retiring in 1990.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, attending his weekly prayer group, going to Jamie's Flea Market, gardening and watching wrestling on T.V.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Guadalupe G. (nee Gonzales), 5 sons: Johnny J. Cabrera, Robert Cabrera, both of Houston, TX, Flex D. Cabrera, of Lorain, Daniel Cabrera, Juan J. Cabrera, both of Houston Texas, 7 daughters: Yolanda Fiefield, Magdalena G. Cocco, Esther Cabrera, all of Houston, Texas, Irene Silva, Cristina Desimone, both of Lorain, Silvia Calaway, of Houston, Texas, and Ruth Cabrera of Lorain, brothers: Pedro Cabrera, Israel Cabrera and sisters: Angelita Cerda, Josepha Maldonado and Maria Del Rosario Limon, all of Houston, Texas, and 19 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Petra Cabrera and 5 brothers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at House of Praise Church, 4321 Elyria Avenue, Lorain where funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Gilbert Silva, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain is handling the arrangements.
