Mary Virginia Lynn, 89, Enjoyed doing ceramics, crocheting, knitting, and being a grandma

Mary Virginia Lynn (nee Warner) 89 years of age, and a resident of Oklahoma City, OK formerly of Amherst, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at St Anthony's Hospital, Oklahoma City, OK following a brief illness.

She was born August 13, 1913 in Decatur, IN. She was raised in Lorain and graduated from Lorain High with the class of 1931. She lived in Amherst 38 years before moving to Oklahoma 4 � years ago to live with her son.

Mrs. Lynn worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Lorain County Treasurer's office. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst. She and her husband enjoyed raising flowers and strawberries. Mary enjoyed doing ceramics, crocheting, knitting, and being a grandma.

Survivors include her son John Lynn of Oklahoma City, OK; three grandchildren; her sister Dorothy Kern.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Charles L. Lynn; sister, Elsie Warner; her brother, Leo Warner and by her parents Joseph and Elsie Warner (nee Schwartz).

Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Final prayers will be held Saturday at 9:30 am. Followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Dr. Amherst, OH 44001. The Rev. Fr. Denis St. Marie, pastor of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, South Amherst, will officiate. Burial will be in the Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Altar Rosary Society of St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Dr., Amherst, OH 44001.
