Genevieve F. Given, 72, Enjoyed Playing the Piano

She was born on March 21, 1930 in Lorain and has been a lifelong resident.
She graduated from the Nazareth Academy in Kalamazoo, MI in 1948, attended the Cleveland Institute of Music for 2 years and was a piano teacher for 2 years. She had also worked for General Motors in Elyria and for the US Steel Company in the tabulating department.
She was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter and a former member of St. Stanislaus Church, both in Lorain. She enjoyed playing the piano, quilting, oil painting, rubber stamping and baking. She was also an avid reader.
Survivors include her husband John A. Given, whom she married on May 31, 1959; sons, Lt. Colonel Terry Given of Burke, VA and Daniel Given of Lorain, daughter Nora Given of Lorain; 6 grandchildren; brothers Eugene Jursek of Stow and Larry Jurczyk of Amherst.
Friends may call on Sunday, January 12, 2003 from 2-4 an d7-9 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, where a rosary service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m.
Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2003 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Reverend David G. Woost, associate pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
