Edward J. Triniszewski Sr., 77, WWII Veteran, enjoyed local sports, Cleveland Pro Sports, and watching Pro Wrestling

Edward J. Triniszewski Sr., 77, of Lorain, died Tuesday January 7, 2003 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain after an extended illness of pneumonia. He was born August 31, 1925 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

He was a graduate of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic School and a graduate of the 1943 B class at Lorain High School.

Mr. Triniszewski served with the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He received the American Area Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Area Ribbon with two stars, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Star and the World War II Victory Ribbon.

He worked at US Steel in Lorain in the mold yard for 43 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and a past member of AMVETS Post #47 of Lorain.

Mr. Triniszewski was an avid Lorain City schools sports fan, and enjoyed walking, riding his bike, dining out, the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, an watching pro wrestling.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy Jean Triniszewski (nee Tarnosky); sons Edward J. Triniszewski Jr. of Lorain and Robert J. Triniszewski of Mobile, Alabama; sister Virginia Starzenski of Elyria and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Cecilia (nee Shieveski) Triniszewski, brothers Thomas Trinski and Joseph Trininski and sister Dorothy Knezetic.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 10, 2003 from 9:30 am until time of prayer services at 10:30 am at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. A funeral mass will follow on Friday at 11:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Robert Glepko, pastor, and the Rev. Mr. Robert Dybo, deacon will concelebrate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township where the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter #20 will conduct military honors.
