Americo Rodriguez, 57, Enjoyed Fishing and Gardening
Americo Rodriguez, 57 of Lorain, died Monday, January 06, 2003 in his home following a lengthy illness. He was born March 6, 1945 in Rincon, Puerto Rico. He came to Lorain in 1955. He was a Lorain resident of 47 years.Americo was employed as a welder for American Ship Building Co, Lorain until 1980. He worked there for 16 years. He worked as a roofer for J. and L. Improvements, Lorain in the late 1980s-92 and 1990-92s.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Among the survivors is his companion of 16 years Shirley Maldonado; son Brian Rodriguez of Sheffield Lake, daughters Tammy (nee Rodriguez) Roman and Cindy (nee Rodriguez) Rector of Lorain, Lisa Rodriguez and Carla (nee Rodriguez) Avalos both of Sheffield Village, 10 Grandchildren, brothers Edalino=93=Coochie= 94 Rodriguez and Angel Rodriguez both of Columbus, Ohio, and a sister Candalaria Rodriguez of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents Remigio and Saturnina (nee Ruiz) Rodriguez and a grandson Bailey J. Rector.
Friends may call Wednesday 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio.
Services will be Thursday 8:45 AM with closing prayers in the funeral home followed by 9:30 AM Mass of the Resurrection in Sacred heart Chapel 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
