Eleanor M. Sedivy, 80, Enjoyed crafting, visiting the sick, and spending time with her family and friends

Eleanor M. Sedivy, (nee Halabuk), age 80, of Wilmington Delaware, and longtime resident of Lorain, died Saturday December 28, 2002 at Marriott's Shipley Manor in Wilmington due to complications resulting from Parkinson's Disease. She was born in Lorain on May 28, 1922 and had been a resident of Wilmington since 1998 relocating from Lorain.

Mrs. Sedivy was a member of the 1940 graduating class of Lorain High School and had been employed by the Lorain City School System as the cafeteria manager at the Washington Avenue School; she retired in 1985 following 16 years of service with the district.

An active parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, she served on the parish council and was also a member of the Holy Trinity Altar & Rosary as well as its Mother's Club. Mrs. Sedivy's interests included all forms of crafts, visitation to the sick, and keeping in touch with friends and relatives.

Survivors include her daughter: Rebecca Emptage of Wilmington, sons: Paul of Strongsville and Robert of Carpinteria, California, five grandchildren, her mother: Sophie Halabuk of Lorain, and sister: Bernice Maxwell of Raleigh, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband: Paul and her father: Stephen Halabuk.

A rosary will be recited in Holy Trinity Church, 2428 Elyria Ave, Lorain, beginning at 8:45 am on Thursday January 2, 2003, by members of the Holy Trinity Altar and Rosary Society. Visitation will follow from 9:00 am until time of funeral mass at 10:00 am in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2428 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The Reverend David Novak, pastor of Holy Trinity Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel of Lorain.
