Richard J. Leboda, 64, An avid sportsman who enjoyed sport shooting, hunting, and bowling
Richard J. Leboda, age 64, of Sheffield Township, died Friday December 27, 2002 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born July 17, 1938 in Ontonagon, Michigan and had bee a resident of Lorain County since 1950.He was a graduate of Clearview High School and a long time member of the Toledo Road Church of Christ. He was employed by the Ford Motor Company for than thirty-five years where he retired as a small tool repairman in 1994.
He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed sport shooting and hunting. Additional interests included automobiles and league bowling in the Tuesday Night League, the Thursday Night League, and the Saturday Night Couples League at Rebman's Recreation. He was a member of the Polish American Citizens Club as well as the Sportsman Gun and Reel Club.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years: Gay (nee McKinney), daughter: Terri Audi of Rocky River, Ohio, step-daughters: Anna McKee of Jonesboro, Georgia and Roberta Lowe residing in Michigan, sons: James Leboda of Vermilion, Dale and Gary Leboda both of Olmsted Falls, 5 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, his mother: Mary (nee Gargas) Leboda of Elyria, brother: Ronald of Texas and Robert of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his father: Leo Leboda and a sister: Loretta Leboda.
Friends may call Monday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 am in the funeral chapel with Deacon Bobby McKee (the decedent's son-in-law) representing the McDonough Church of Christ in McDonough, Georgia and Rev. Robert Eddy, representing the Toledo Road Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill memorial park, Amherst Township.
