Faris Neely, 46, City of Vermilion Water Plant Operator

Faris Neely, 46 of Vermilion, died Wednesday, December 25, 2002 after a sudden illness.

He was born November 26, 1956 in Amherst and has been a Vermilion resident for most of his life.

He worked as an Operator for the City of Vermilion Water Plant for the past 7 years and had worked as a tree trimmer foreman for Asplundh Tree Service.

Mr. Neely was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of Amvets Post #22, Vermilion and the NRA. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and remodeling.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Sandra (nee Culpepper) Neely; parents, Faris D. and Shirley (nee Hobbs) Neely of Ocala, FL; 1 daughter, Amy Morales of Lorain, 2 sons; Faris Donnie Neely, Jr. of Vermilion, and Joshua Neely of Vermilion; 2 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Nadine Alvarez of Ocala, FL, Flora Scholten of Ocala, FL, Deborah Cook of Vermilion, Deanna Naylor of Ocala, FL; 1 brother, Darin Neely of Vermilion and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Flora Neely and John and Ann Hobbs.

Friends may call Friday, December 27, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.

Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home on Saturday, December 28th at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend David Johnson, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
