Helne I. Cairns, 85, Loved Painting and Drawing
Helen I. Cairns (nee Britton), 85, of Avon, formerly of North Ridgeville, passed away Monday, December 23, 2002 at St. John & West Shore Hospital, Westlake, following a lengthy illness.She was born February 10, 1917 in Peru, Indiana and moved to North Ridgeville in 1965. She was a homemaker.
Helen was a member of Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church, North Ridgeville where she was a chairman of the Ladies Guild for many years and was a Sunshine lady. She belonged to the Fellowship of St. Andrews. She enjoyed cooking, reading, crafts and was an artist. She loved painting and drawing.
Mrs. Cairns is survived by Sons, Charles and Richard Cairns, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a great great grandson. She is also survived by a son-in-law, Walter Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh, daughter Donna Anderson; parents, Clyde and Helen (nee Walters) Britton; sister, Ann Owens and brother John Britton.
A memorial service will be held at the Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church, 34555 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, Monday, December 30, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Paul Oberhaus, pastor, will officiate. Cremation by Busch Crematory. Private interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
