Steven M. Tarson, 44, Enjoyed hunting, fishing, and photography

Photo of Steven M. Tarson Steven M. Tarson, 44, of Sheffield Lake, died Friday December 20, 2002 in the intensive care unit at Community Health Partners Hospital in Lorain after a lengthy illness. He was born September 28, 1958 in Lorain and had resided in Sheffield Lake for the past four years moving from Lorain.

He was a 1976 graduate of Clearview High School where he played the tuba in marching band and the saxophone in the concert band. He was the school photographer and had photos published in the school newspaper and the yearbook.

Mr. Tarson worked as a self-employed carpenter who did interior remodeling, painting, drywall and floor tile. He also worked for Al Vargas Home Interiors in Lorain. Mr. Tarson was a past member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township. He was a member of the National Rife Association and a member of Ducks Unlimited, which is a preservation group for wildlife areas.

He was an Eagle Scout at the age of 14 for troop 307 and was an assistant Cub Scout pack leader. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and photography and was looking forward to the birth of is first grandchild.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Nita (nee Blankenship), daughter Amber Nicole Tarson of Sheffield Lake; son Jesse Joseph Tarson at home; parents Joseph & Delcie (nee Hall) Tarson of Sheffield Township; brother David Tarson of Sheffield Township; sister Delcie France of Elyria and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Freda Hall, Jr. and Myrtle (nee Keathley) Hall and paternal grandparents John Tarson and Tillie Tarson-Hein.

The family will receive friends Sunday form 5:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Monday at 9:00 am followed by a funeral mass at 9:30 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Rd., Elyria. The Rev. James Ols, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.

Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the funeral chapel.
