Ruby Owen, 95, Enjoyed playing bridge with her husband and had master points
Ruby Owen (nee Frakes), 95, of Vermilion, died Thursday, December 19, 2002 in Community Health Partners, Lorain, after a short illness. She was born August 27, 1907 in Steele, Missouri, and had lived in Michigan, New York and 30 years in Winter Haven, FL. She moved to the Sandusky, Vermilion area 3 years ago.She worked as an elementary school teacher for schools in Missouri and Michigan. She was a member of the Hope Presbyterian Church, Winter Haven, FL, and enjoyed playing bridge. She had played duplicate bridge with her husband and had master points.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet Bertoni, of Vermilion; four grandsons; two granddaughters; and one great grandson. Preceding her in death were her husband, William Thomas Owen, parents, Ella (nee Young) and Albert Grayson Frakes; a son: William Russell Owen; and three brothers, Raymond, Russell, and Thomas Frakes.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Hope Presbyterian Church, Winter Haven, Florida.
