Freda A. Blake, 95, Enjoyed Quilting and Cooking

Freda A. Blake (nee Mayberry) 95 of Avon, Ohio passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at the Northridge Heath Center in North Ridgeville, Ohio after a long illness.

She was born October 8, 1907 in Columbus Grove, Ohio and has been a resident of Avon for 73 years. She was one of the founders of Avon Research Club. A member of Avon United Methodist Church and the Autumn Rebels Seniors Group. She also enjoyed quilting and cooking.

She is survived by a son Gene E. Blake (Jeanne) of Avon & Seminole, Florida and a daughter Patricia Furnas (Bill) of Avon. She has five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She also has three sisters Elsie Core of Leipsic, Ohio; Margaret Augsburger of Bluffton, Ohio and Mary Lou Metzger of Columbus Grove, Ohio. Freda also has two brothers Theodore and Willis Mayberry of Columbus Grove, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband Waldo E. Blake in 1969. Her parents Alfred L. and Margie Coleman Mayberry and five brothers.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 32000 Detroit Rd in Avon from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday where services will be held Saturday December 21 at 11:00 a.m. The services will be conducted by Rev. John Butchko pastor of the Avon United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens located in Avon. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Avon Schools Endowment Fund, 3075 Stoney Ridge Rd., Avon, Ohio 44011.
