Arline M. Pullen, 79, Volunteer at Good Samaritan Nursing Home

Arline M. Pullen, 79, of Avon Lake, formerly of Cleveland, passed away, Wednesday, December 18, 2002, at the Oakridge Home, Westlake, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Pullen was born, October 19, 1923 in Cleveland and has lived in Avon Lake since 1957.

Mrs. Pullen began her career as a secretary after graduating from East High School, Cleveland in 1941. At that time she went to work for the Erie Railroad, Cleveland as a stenographer/recorder in the Medical Department. She worked for the railroad for 10 years, and during that time met her husband George E., who also was a railroad employee. After raising a family, Mrs. Pullen returned to work as a Legal Secretary with Smith and Smith Attorneys, Avon Lake. After retirement, she worked for the St. Joseph Catholic Credit Union. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a member of the Church's Ladies Guild, a member of the Lorain Art League, active with the Avon Lake Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons. She was also a long time volunteer at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Avon.

Besides her husband, George E., whom she married, November 6, 1948, Mrs. Pullen is survived by daughters: Carol Klimas (Mick) of Riverbank, CA, Kathleen Plank (Paul) of Lakewood, Laura Warrington (Steve) of Brandon, FL and Patricia Coss (Michael) of Mt. Vernon, OH; a son David of Parma; eight grandchildren, Michael, Meg, Matthew, Dana, Dustin, Aaron, Victor, Abraham, and two great grandchildren, Jayden and Angelina. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Judnick, two brothers and two sisters.

A Memorial Mass will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Avon Lake, at a later date. Interment will be private in Resthaven Memory Garden. Fr. Timothy J. O'Connor of the church will officiate. Memorials may be forwarded to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1422 Euclid Ave., Cleveland OH 44113. Arrangements by the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, Avon Lake (440) 933-3202.
