Gloria M. Fernandez, 77, Enjoyed her grandchildren, flowers, gardening, and Spanish soap operas
Gloria M. Fernandez, (nee Manqual), age 77, of Lorain, died Sunday December 15, 2002 at her home following a sudden illness. Born April 7, 1925 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, she lived in Brooklyn, New York before coming to Lorain in 1964.She worked as an assembler in the casting plant of Ford Motor Company in Brookpark, Ohio for 19 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, and the United Auto Workers Union Local 1250. She enjoyed her grandchildren, flowers, gardening, and Spanish soap operas.
Surviving her is her husband of 50 years, Benny "Neco", sons: Juan Mangual, of Far Rockaway, NY, Armando Acevedo, of Waterbury, CT., Carlos Fernandez, of Lorain, and Ben Fernandez, of San Francisco, CA., daughters: Iris Vasquez, and Annette Harrington, both of Lorain, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters: Isabel Baez, of Lorain, Luz Matias, of Aguadila, Puerto Rico. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos Manqual and Adela (nee Molina) Manqual, a brother, Carols Manqual, sisters, America Manqual, Carmen Manqual, Eldora Rivera, and Alicia Segarra.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday December 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be Thursday December 19, 2002 at 8:45 am followed by mass at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
