Albert J. Scott, 69, Marine Corp Veteran
Albert J. Scott, 69, of Sheffield Lake, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at Lorain Community Hospital and Surgical Center, following a Cardiac Event. Mr. Scott was born, August 13, 1933 in Buffalo, New York and has lived in Sheffield Lake for the past 28 years.Mr. Scott retired from the Operations department at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in 1992 after 37 years of service. He was a Marine Corp Veteran serving in Korea during the Korean War. He enjoyed traveling, especially driving.
He is survived by his wife Rita (nee Skompinski), whom he married March 19, 1957. Other survivors include sons, David of Avon Lake, and Jim (Lois) of Richmond, KY, a daughter Sandra Richards (Barry) of Sheffield Lake, 6 grandchildren; Kimberly, Michael, Jessica, Brittany, Austin, and Zachary, and a sister Patricia Morgen of North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy (nee Macon) Scott.
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake from 4:00-8:00 pm Sunday December 15, 2002. Funeral services will be at the Funeral Home, Monday at 1:00 pm. Fr. Timothy J. O'Connor of St. Joseph Church, Avon Lake, will officiate. Interment will be private in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH.
