Marian Knitter, 88, PLAV Auxiliary Member

She was born December 10, 1913 in Amherst and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Mrs. Knitter worked as a dietician at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain for many years before retiring.
She was a member of nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic, the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post #38 Ladies Auxiliary and the United Polish Club Ladies Auxiliary, all of Lorain.
She enjoyed visiting friends and relatives and dining out.
She is survived by her son, Tom Knitter of Lorain, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sisters, Sophia Kulas and Helen Sexstella, both of Lorain and Louise Sroka of Amherst.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Knitter, parents Andrew and Victoria (nee Holeva) Gerron, brothers Stanley Gerron, Ted Gerron and Frank Gerron and sisters Josephine Deminski, Julia Wozniak and Marcella Haas.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 11th from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 12th at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral mass at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. The Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
