Ruth Ransome, 75, Enjoyed spending time with family, working, and traveling

Ruth Ransome (nee Leuszler), 75 years of age, and resident of Amherst, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2002 at Community Health Partners, Lorain following a lengthy illness.

She was born June 16, 1927 in Amherst where she was raised, and graduated from Amherst High School with the class of 1945. She has been a lifetime Amherst resident.

She was a homemaker. Mrs. Ransome was an active member of First Baptist Church in Lorain particularly with the Social Committee and cooking for various functions. She was employed at Golden Acres Nursing Home, Lorain from 1967 to 1976. The majority of her life was spent serving her family and she enjoyed working and traveling.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Robert Charles Ransome; her son Robert T. Ransome of Amherst; her daughters Donna L. Pearce of South Amherst and Diane Lynn Baker of Parma; six grandsons; five great grandchildren; and her brothers Lee Leuszler and Don Leuszler, both of Amherst. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Gertrude (nee Griffin) Leuszler; and by her brother Fred Leuszler.

Friends my call Monday from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from First Baptist Church, 1510 CooperFoster Park Rd., Lorain. The Rev. Paul Blair, interim pastor, and Rev. Chris Robinson, chaplain of Community Health Partners, will officiate. Burial will be in the Cleveland Avenue Cemetery, Amherst.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, 1510 CooperFoster Park Rd., Lorain, OH 44052.
