Mary Ann Phares, 41, Enjoyed arts, crafts, and decorating for the holidays
Mary Ann Phares (nee Dancik), 41, of Lorain, died Friday December 6, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center-West, Lorain, following a battle with lung cancer.Born December 14, 1960 in Lorain, where she has lived here her entire life. She was a 1976 graduate of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic grade school, and a 1980 graduate of Lorain High School.
She worked as a home health care giver, caring for homebound elderly. She was also a homeroom mother and a teacher's aid at Irving Elementary School, Lorain. She was well known for her arts and crafts, and enjoyed decorating her home inside and out during the holidays. She was an excellent cook, baker and homemaker. She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Lorain.
Surviving is her husband of 23 years, William, 2 sons, Matthew and Nicholas, both at home, her mother, Dorothy Dancik, (nee Svat), of Lorain, a sister Patricia Ann Dancik, of Lorain, and a brother Daniel Paul Dancik, of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her father, William Dancik, in 1984, sister Kathleen Klucas, maternal grandparents, Frank and Mary (Krupcik) Svat, and paternal grandparents, John and Anna (Kulick) Dancik.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 9, 2002 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Edgar Anthony, pastor of St. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, will officiate.
