Alex Jesensky Sr., 88, Thew Shovel Retiree

Alex Jesensky, Sr. 88, of Lorain, died Wednesday December 4, 2002 at the Ohio Extended Care Center in Lorain after a lengthy illness. He was born December 11, 1913 in Amherst and had resided in Lorain most of his life.

Mr. Jesensky worked as a crane operator at the Koehring Division of Thew Shovel in Lorain for 33 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain. He enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his sons: Alex Jesensky Jr., of Avon Lake and Edward Jesensky of Lorain; daughter, Jeannete Salkowitz of Lorain; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Stella (nee Lach) on November 1, 1997, parents Alex and Rose (nee Talmacs) Jesensky and sisters Jenny Oley and Theresa Mielcarek.

The family will receive friends Tuesday December 10th from 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3601 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Kenneth Wolnowski, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
