Rose Marie Gonzales, 67, Devoted to her family, enjoyed crocheting and cooking
Rose Marie Gonzales, (nee Orozco), age 67, of Lorain, died Monday, December 2, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center-West, following a lengthy illness. She was born on December 19, 1934 in Lorain, where she had lived her entire life.She was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church, Lorain. She was devoted to her family, and enjoyed crocheting and cooking.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Fred, sons, Frederick, of Lorain, and Mark R. of Louisville, KY, daughters, Marian L. Smith, of Amarillo, TX, Veronica A. Michalski, of Lorain, Teresa M. Ridgeway, of Dayton, and Rose Ann Stotzer, of Centerville, Ohio, 12 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, brothers, Charles J., of Toledo, and Richard P., of Lorain, sister, Grace Darr, of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernesto Orozco, in 1975, and Mary L. (nee Russo) Orozco, in 1997, sister, Mary Ann, in 1946, and her brother, Ernest, in 1980.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday December 4, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be Thursday, December 5, at 9:30 a.m. followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Dr., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Thomas Smith, pastor, will officiate, and Rev. Fr. Lawrence Martello, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst, will co-officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
