Michael Theodore "Moonshine" Solak, 46, TRW CNN Operator/C&C Machinist

Michael Theodore "Moonshine" Solak, age 46, of Elyria, died on Monday, December 2, 2002 at EMH Regional Medical Center Elyria, following an illness of 1 year.

He was born on August 21, 1956 in Elyria and attended Marion Steele High School, Amherst, graduating in 1975. He also received a diploma as a machinist from Lorain County Community College in 1990.

He served as a Specialist 4th Class in the Army from 1974 to 1976.

He worked as a CNN Operator/C&C Machinist at TRW for 14 years, before retiring in 1993.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Elyria, and Amvets Post #32 in Elyria.

Michael enjoyed golfing and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, the former Christine (nee Kuhar) - Moran, his mother, Bonnie Solak, of Kissimmee, Florida, three daughters: Robin of Elyria, Jena and Justine both of Lincolntown, North Carolina and a sister: Paula Hartle of Amherst Twp., 4 step-sons, David Moran, Arthur Moran, Larry Moran and Brian Moran, all of Elyria.

He is preceded in death by his father: Theodore.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 6, 2002 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, Ohio.
