Joseph B. Durko, 74, Retired from Laborer's Union Local #758 in 2000

He was born on August 8, 1928 in Miskolc, Hungary. He moved from Hungary to Lorain in 1956.

He was employed as a general laborer for the Laborer's Union Local #758 for 30 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Hungarian Reformed Church and enjoyed reading.

He is survived by his daughter: Elizabeth McDougal, of Lorain, 2 grandchildren, sisters: Elizabeth Aranyi, of Berlin Heights, OH, Kathleen Bucsay-Damron, of New Windsor, NY, Valerie Laszalo, of Hungary, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife: Elizabeth (nee Aranyi) in 1999 and her son: Joseph in 1986.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 4, 2002 from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10:00 a.m. in Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ, 1783 E. 31st and Globe Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, Ohio. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain is handling the arrangements.
