Georgiana S. Stevens, 78, Enjoyed gardening, music, crocheting, and crafts
Georgiana S. Stevens, (nee Simon), age 78, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at Life Care Nursing Center, Elyria, following a lengthy illness.She was born on August 4, 1926 in Douglas, Arizona, she lived in Limestone, Maine, and Tacoma, Washington before moving to Lorain 39 years ago.
She worked as a child caregiver, and volunteer at the St. Jude's Hot Meals Program. She also volunteered as a Kindergarten Aide at Homewood Elementary School, Lorain. She enjoyed gardening, music, crocheting, and crafts.
She is survived by her daughters: Donna Stevens Mittler, of Medina, Pat Piroch, of Elyria, and Diana Stevens, of Olmsted Falls, 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, and several nieces and nephews, sisters: Lucy McClure, of Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Donald O., parents: George and Deloria (nee Burgess) Simon, step mother, Rachel Simon, brothers, William Simon and Michael Simon, sister, Sr. Miriam George.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 30, 2002 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 590 Poplar Avenue, Elyria, Rev. Fr. Frank Kosem, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain is handling the arrangements.
