James A. Judge, 71, Enjoyed golfing, water and snow skiing

James A. Judge, 71, of Avon Lake passed away Tuesday, November 26 at the Cleveland Clinic following a nine-month illness. He was born August 21, 1931 in Cleveland and moved to Avon Lake in 1977 coming from Fairview Park. He was a graduate of Cathedral Latin High School in Cleveland and served in the Navy Reserve Submarine Division 4-92, Cleveland from 1951-1959. Mr. Judge was employed as a Real Estate Broker for 36 years, retiring from Realty One. He sold new construction for Kopf Construction, Avon Lake. Prior to working as a Realtor he was employed as a meatcutter with the family business, Judge and Brihan Bi-Rite in Cleveland. His family parish was St. Stephen Church in Cleveland and he was a member of St. Joseph Church, Avon Lake. He enjoyed golfing, water and snow skiing.

Mr. James is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol A. (nee Mercer); four daughters, Connie Judge of Lorain; Sue Walborn and Eileen Campo both of Avon Lake and Carrie Hladik of Santa Barbara, California; a son, Jamie Judge of Columbus, eleven grandchildren and two sisters, Jeanne Oliger of Westlake and Irene Brihan of South Windsor, Connecticut. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Elizabeth "Bessie" (nee Glass) Judge.

Friends may call at the BUSCH-BURMEISTER FAMLY CHAPEL, 32000 Detroit Rd., Avon, from 2-4 & 6:30-9 p.m. Friday. Prayer services will be held at the funeral home Saturday November 30 at 8:15 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Rd. Avon Lake at 9:00 a.m. Fr. Timothy J. O'Connor will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon.
