Helen P. Richards, 87, Former Amherst Resident of 25 years
Helen P. Richards (nee Gates), 87 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2002 at her daughter home following a lengthy illness.She was born June 3, 1915, in Eldorado, Illinois. She was raised in Detroit, Michigan. She has lived in Amherst for 25 years before moving to Lorain in 1993.
She was a housewife and mother.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Richards of Lorain, 2 grandchildren, and one great grandson.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Howard L. Richards in 1980; her son Norman Richards in 1985; her parents, Alsie and Tina (nee Woolard) Gates.
Private graveside services were held by her family at Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.
Arrangements are being made by Hemple Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, Ohio.
