Anna M. Plas, 93, Enjoyed Cooking

Anna M. Plas (nee Sarnovsky), 93, of Lorain, died Sunday November 24, 2002 in the emergency room of Community Health Partners Hospital & Surgical Center in Lorain after a brief illness.

She was born July 15, 1909 in Dobcina, Slovakia and had resided in Lorain since 1924 moving from Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Plas worked at General Industries in Elyria as an assembler and then at DeLuca's Party Center in Lorain as a cook. She and her husband owned a pickle farm in Avon for ten years.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain and the church Altar & Rosary Society, AARP, Golden Agers #1029 and the Salvation Army Keenagers. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, traveling and was an excellent cook.

She is survived by her daughter Virginia Nicoloff of Lorain, 5 grandsons, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, parents Adolph and Anna (nee Korfanta) Sarnovsky, grandson John Nicoloff, sister Agnes Durjava and brothers John Sarnovsky, Joseph Sarnovsky and Adolph Sarnovsky.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain where the Holy trinity Altar & Rosary Society will pray the rosary Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2428 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The Rev. David Novak, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
