Wayne M. Mullinax, 66, Mechanic

He was born December 1, 1935 in Kent, Ohio and raised in Kent and Stow. He has been a Lorain County resident since 1985.

He was employed at Mullinax Ford, Amherst for 44 years, retiring in 2001 as a mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army in the 101st Air Borne Division. He was a member of the American Legion Post 118 in Amherst and enjoyed woodworking, bingo, fishing and golfing.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Mullinax (nee Capling); sons Michael Mullinax of Akron, daughters Deborah Mullinax of Akron and Leann Leddick of Hugo, OK, four grandchildren; brothers Alden of Ellijay, GA, and Ed of Amherst; and sister Arlene Albright of Stow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Clarissa (nee McAlpine) Mullinax.

Friends may call Thursday, November 14, 2002 from 4-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. Funeral services with the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Willis Hull, associate pastor of Faith Baptist Church, Amherst will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
