John A. Stolec, 89, Lifelong Resident
John A. Stolec, 89 of Elyria died on Wednesday November 13, 2002 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain, OH following a long illness.Mr. Stolec was born on December 24, 1912 in Lorain, OH and was a lifelong resident of the area.
He attended the Disciples of Christ-Christian Temple in Lorain. He graduated in the Lorain High School Class of 1932 B. He retired in 1977 after 35 years as an electrician with the IBEW Local 129.
Mr. Stolec was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Sheffield Lodge #628, Lorain Conty Scottish Rite and the Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland. He was also a member of the Masonic Electrical Craft #55.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, E. Betty (nee Hook) Clegg Stolec, daughter, Karen Wilkenson of Columbus, OH, a sons, Richard W. Stolec of Hudson, FL, 7 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stolec is preceded in death by his parents John and Suzzana (nee Kosut) Stolec, and brother Steve Stolec, sister Mary Ivan, Julia Banek, Margaret Bucher, Irene Stolec and Helen Christiansen.
Friends may call on Tuesday November 19, 2002 from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time at 10:30 a.m. in the Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH with Rev. Bradley J. Donahue, pastor of the Disciples of Christ-Christian Temple, officiating.
