Pete Sturbleng, 76, Lorain County Labor Local 758 Vice President
Pete Sturbleng, 76, of Avon Lake passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, Lorain following a six-month illness.He was born January 4, 1926 in Wayne Michigan and moved to Avon Lake 37 years ago coming from Sheffield Village. Pete served in the US Coast Guard-Merchant Marine for 2 years in Europe during World War II. He was employed as the vice president of Lorain County Labor Local 758 for 25 years and was a member of Local 758.
He is survived by his two sons, Frank (Joyce) of Elyria, and Pete (Peg) of Arkansas; two daughters, Debbie Gumble (Don) of Sheffield Lake, and Janet Naquin of New Hampshire, ten grandchildren, a sister, Eva Mahon of Sun City, Florida and a brother Frank Sturbleng of Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (nee Stapleton) (d. 1991) and his parents, John and Helen (nee Motis) Sturbleng.
Memorial services will be held at Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake on Saturday, November 16, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Kelly Boye Peters, pastor of Avon Lake Church of Christ will officiate. Cremation by Busch Crematory. Private committal services will take place at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
