Sylvia L. Wilson, 83, Lorain Resident Since 1959
Sylvia L. Wilson (nee Beeson), age 83, of Lorain, died Saturday, November 9, 2002 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph in Lorain after a long illness.She was born in Barbour County, West Virginia, on October 24, 1919 and was a Lorain resident since 1959.
She graduated from Alderson Broadas College, Alderson, West Virginia, with a B. A. Degree, and did graduate work at Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio.
An elementary school teacher for 35 years, she taught at Homewood Elementary School in Lorain until retiring in 1985. She was a member of several teachers associations.
Surviving are two sons, John V. of Amherst, and Steve H. of Hudson, Ohio and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Vance Wilson, in 1975, a daughter, Sharon Jane Wilson, in 1968, a brother, William C. Beeson, and her parents, Oris and Lena (nee Paugh) Beeson.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 12, 2002, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. in Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, Ohio.
Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
