Edith Mahala Sterrett (nee Hathaway), 85, formerly of Vermilion, died Saturday, November 9, 2002 in Briarfield Concord Care, Milan.She was born October 2, 1915 in Clarksburg, WV and had been a Vermilion resident since 1940 and had also lived in Cape Coral, FL.
Mrs. Sterrett was co-owner of Vermilion Engineering, a boat building and welding company from 1940-1975.
Mrs. Sterrett enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and gardening.
Survivors include her 2 sons, Daryle Richard Sterrett, and Ted Sterrett both of Vermilion, Ohio, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a sister Georgie Gladish of Vermilion.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Walter Sterrett in 1975, parents, Emory and Clara Bell (nee Mace) Hathaway, son, Larry Ray Sterrett, grandson, Jason Sterrett and 4 sisters: Virginia Hamric, Rea Epply, Mattie Kaser, and Beulah Teeling.
Funeral services will be private. The Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio, is handling arrangements.
