Walter "Bud" A. Currier, 77, Veteran of U.S. Army

Walter "Bud" A. Currier, 77 year of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away suddenly, Wednesday November 6, 2002 at Metro Health Partners Medical Center in Cleveland.

He was born November 30, 1925 in Oberlin, Ohio where he was raised. He had moved to Amherst 30 year age, prior to that he lived in South Amherst for many years.

Walter worked for the Cleveland Quarries for 47 years retiring in 1993 as a Forman/Draftsman. He was a former South Amherst Fire Fighter. Veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, serving one year in Japan. He was a member of the American Legion Post 197- South Amherst, the VFW Post 1662- Amherst, Fraternal Order of Eagles in Amherst.

Survivors include his daughter Tanya Currier of Vermilion, Sally Jo Parreco o f Vermilion; his step-son, Robby G. Stidham of Vermilion and step-daughter, Debbie Marcum of Amherst; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. Other survivors include brother Geral Currier of Elyria, his sisters, Jean Straub, of Strongsville, Joyce Glime of Birmingham, Nancy Rossi of Sandusky, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 12 years, Phyllis Sue (nee Mullins) Currier in 1989, his parents Leon and Helen (nee Dudley) Currier and his brother, Joseph Currier.

Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the Hemple Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from Hemple Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Camden Cemetery, Kipton, Ohio.
