Antonio Rivera, 81, Enjoyed Softball and Playing Dominoes

Antonio Rivera, age 81, of Lorain died on Saturday, November 2, 2002 at his home, following a lengthy illness.

He was born on February 28, 1921 in Naranjito, Puerto Rico. He lived in Manhattan, NY before moving to Lorain in 1978.

Antonio was employed as a maintenance supervisor at Metropolitan Housing in Manhattan for 30 years, retiring in 1978. After moving to Lorain, he worked at Elyria Foundry for 3 � years.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel.

Antonio enjoyed softball and playing dominoes.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Matilde (nee Fonseca), sons: Antonio Rivera, of Bronx, NY, Jason Rivera of Lorain, daughters: Norma Rivera, of Atlanta, GA, Carmen Rivera of Jupiter, FL, Jennifer Rivera and Yvette Rivera, all of Lorain, 3 grandchildren and 1 brother, Abraham Rivera of Delaware.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Dolores and Candelareia Rivera, son: Antonio A. Rivera III in 2000 and 16 brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 6, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain and also on Thursday, November 7, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. in the plaza at Sacred Heart until the time of funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain, Rev. Fr. Manuel Cordova, will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
