Vernon "Bud" Aldrich, 82, Enjoyed motor cycles, woodworking and his family

Vernon "Bud" Aldrich, 82, died Friday morning, October 25, 2002 at Community Health Partners West after a sudden illness.

He was born on August 1, 1920 in Elma, New York. He had been a Vermilion resident for the past 10 years moving from Marilla, New York.

He worked for the NYDOT (New York Department of Transportation) for 21 years, retiring in 1983. He had worked for Finch Brothers in Marilla, New York.

He was a former member of Marilla Methodist church. He was a member of the Alden Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed motor cycles, woodworking and his family.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Audrey (nee Carmichael), 1 daughter, Wilma Jean (Richard) Boyd of Choctaw, OK; 2 sons, James (Donna) Aldrich of Lehigh Acres, FL and Michael (Doreen) Aldrich of Vermilion. Other survivors included 5 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and 2 sisters, Ruth Leo of Darien, New York and Mabel Caryk of Fredonia, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Jennie (nee Brooks) Alrich.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 28, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Charles Meyer Funeral Home 13228 Broadway, Alden, New York 14004-1313; where funeral services will be held on Tuesday. Burial will be in Marilla Cemetery, Marilla, New York.
