Ann Mary Zahorec, 76, Enjoyed Polka Dancing and Music
Ann Mary Zahorec, (nee Rak), age 76, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, October 16, 2002 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph Residential Center, following a brief illness.She was born on July 26, 1926 in Lorain and graduated from Lorain High School in 11944.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Lorain and St. Basil Byzantine Catholic Church, Lorain.
Actively volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital, Lorain Community Health Partners for 12 years.
As a member of Lorain Senior Citizens Center, she sang in their choir at local nursing homes. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandson, Polka dancing and music.
She is survived by her sons: Richard, of Lorain, William of Edgewater, MD Arthur, of Lorain, daughters: Rebecca Sultzer, of Lorain and Lisa Hull of Trabuco Canyon, California, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and one brother: Carl Rak, of Lorain.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years: Steve in 1993, parents: Carl (Tony) in 1972 and Anna Rak in 1991 and brother, Peter, in 1998.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 19, 2002 at 9:45 a.m. until the time of funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1305 E. Erie Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Joseph West, O.F.M. Conv. Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain is in charge of arrangements.
