Christopher D. Lidyard, 45, Union Pipe Fitter

Christopher D. Lidyard, 45, of Avon, formerly of Avon Lake, passed away, Sunday, October 13th suddenly at home.

Mr. Lidyard was born May 24, 1957 in Berea and had lived in Avon Lake his entire life prior to moving to Avon 7 months ago.

He was a union pipe fitter and had worked for Cromwell Printing in Cleveland. He was a 1976 graduate of Avon Lake High School, a member of the American Legion, Avon Lake, Post 211 and an outdoorsman.

He enjoyed music and golf, and had hunted, fished and boated through out his life, however, family and his grandchildren were most important to him.

He is survived by his wife, Gail E. Swartz, whom he married July 28, 1978. Other survivors include, daughter Sara Higgins (Matthew) of Avon Lake, son Jason Lidyard of Avon Lake; grandsons Tyler and Samuel Higgins; parents William and Shirley (nee Yancer) Lidyard of Coshocton; sister, Becky Miller of Cleveland and Tracey Carek of Avon Lake and brother Todd Lidyard of Avon Lake.

A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, October 17th in St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Road, Avon Lake, at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Timothy J. O'Connor of the Church will officiate. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, Avon Lake. (440) 933-3202.
