Mary Magdalene Webber, 89, Avid book reader
Mary Magdalene Webber (nee Stofko), 89, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2002 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph. She was born in Johnstown, PA July 24, 1913 and has lived in Lorain most of her life. Mrs. Webber was a buyer for the Smith & Gerhert Dept. store in Lorain and retired in 1957 after working for 25 years.She also attended church at the St. Joseph Church in Lorain and was an active member at the Ladies Guild of Church, Young Golden Agers, and AARP. She was also an avid book reader and booth worker of the Board Elections for 25 years.
Her survivors include nieces and nephews. Preceded her is death were her husband Gerald Webber in 1988 and parents Stephen and Emilie Stofka. Other survivors include brothers: Rev. Fr. Leo A. Strofko, 1964, Rev. Msgr. Karl Stephen Stofko, 1988 and Sister Emily Hennes, 1995.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and services by the Ladies Guild Rosary at 5:30 p.m. and the Christian Wake Service at 6:40 p.m. officiated by the Rev. Mr. Luis A. Maldonado. Reichlin-Cooley-Funeral Home located at 2920 Broadway, Lorain will have the funeral Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with prayers at the funeral home with Fr. John Kline officiating at the Calvary in Lorain, located at Sec. 10 Lot 587 Gr. 2.
