Elizabeth B. Kowalski, 83, Seamstress

She was born October 13,1 918 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania and had resided in Lorain for the past 60 years.

Mrs. Kowalski worked as a seamstress at Weitz Clothiers in Lorain and Joseph & Fess in Cleveland for 20 years before retiring.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia Ludwig of Lorain; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and sisters, Violet Grden of New Concord, Ohio, Jennie Pasanac of Springdale, Pennsylvania and Stella Baker of New Kensington, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester A. Kowalski on May 21, 1984, parents, Peter and Anna (nee Gunn) Matway, sister Rose Albert and brother Stanley Matway.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 4, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. until the time of prayer services at 10:30 a.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Road, Elyria Township with the Rev. James Ols, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
