Alexandra Karris, 95, Lorain resident since 1929
Alexandra (Karmogiannis) Karris (nee Triantaffilou), age 95, of Lorain died Monday, September 30, 2002 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home following a brief illness.She was born November 6, 1906 in Kiato, Greece and had been a Lorain resident since 1929. She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Mrs. Karris enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening, baking, and especially Greek pastries.
Survivors include sons George Karras of Lorain and Nicholas Karmogiannis of Vermilion; daughter, Mary Noblitt of Chester, Virginia; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James Karras (Karmogiannis) in 1974, daughter, Helen Mutich in 2001, parents George and Helen (Anagnostopoulos) Triantaffilou, brother Christos Triantaffilou, sister Panagiota Drimeri and grandson James Mutich in 1953.
Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, where a Trisayion Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church 2000 Tower Blvd. With the Rev. Michael Gulgas, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio.
