Jason C. Borch, 26, Avid golfer, fisherman and all around sports fan

Jason C. Borch - 26 of Sheffield Lake, formerly of Avon Lake, passed away, Sunday, September 29, at his home, following a lengthy illness. Jason was born, October 18, 1975 in Cleveland and has been a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1994 Graduate of Avon Lake High School. Jason then served in the US Navy from 1994 to 2000 working as a helicopter mechanic. He was an avid golfer, and fisherman. He was an all around sports fan, especially of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. He enjoyed travel and was described by his family as having a great sense of humor.

Jason is survived by his wife, Christy L. (nee Salsberry) whom he married August 21, 1999 on the Island of Malta, and his daughter, Haley. Other survivors include his mother and stepfather Catherine E. (nee MacLean) and Douglas Lehota of Sheffield Lake and his father and stepmother Frederik H. and Antonia Borch of Avon Lake. He is also survived by his sister Jennifer J. Parks, Jenny Murphy, Catherine Lehota and Victoria Estes; his materal grandparents John and Pamela MacLean; his maternal grandmother Jayne Borch and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Carl Borch and an Uncle Carl I. Borch.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Rd. Avon Lake from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be at a time announced. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Garden. Memorials may be forwarded to an account that will be set up in Haley's name.
