Franklin Delano Miller, 65, U.S. Navy Veteran

Franklin Delano Miller - 65 of Avon formerly of Cleveland, passed away, Saturday, September 28 at the Cleveland Clinic from cancer. Mr. Miller was born, December 30, 1936 in Beckley, West Virginia and has lived in Avon for 25 years.

Mr. Miller had worked as the Machine Shop Manager for Superior Products, retiring in January 2000 after 42 years of service. He was a US Navy veteran serving abroad ship from 1953 to 1957. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley West Virginia and was a member of the VFW Post 7035, Avon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and carpentry.

Besides his wife, Nancy (nee Strover) of 38 years, Mr. Miller is survived by daughter Karen Miller of Cleveland, sons Kenneth Miller (Victoria) and Johnny Miller both of North Ridgeville. Other survivors include brothers Dennis Miller (Dorothy) of Strongsville, Wallace Miller (Marcella) of Cross Roads, WV and a sister Betty Sweeney (Gary) of Ft. Mill, South Carolina. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Miller and Myrtle (nee Goins) Petty and two brothers Charles and Samuel Miller.

Friends may call at the BUSCH-BURMEISTER FAMILY CHAPEL, 32000 Detroit Rd., Avon, Tuesday, October 1, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thomas Henderson of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. All services will be in the chapel in Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbis Rd., North Olmsted, Wednesday, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the cemetery. Memorials may be forwarded to the Cleveland Clinic Hospice or Palliative Care 9500 Euclid Ave., Cleveland 44195.
