Virginia K. Partyka-Moore, 77, enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and cooking Polish dishes
Virginia K. Partyka-Moore (nee Januszewski), 77, of Lexington, Kentucky formerly of Lorain died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at the Hospice Care Center of St. Joseph in Lexington, Kentucky, following a lengthy illness.She was born April 1, 1925 in Lorain, Ohio. She lived in Lorain for 63 years before moving to Lexington. She was a graduate of Lorain High School, Class of 1943.
She worked for the National Tube Company during the war, then later worked for DuLuca's Bakery and the May Company all in Lorain. She was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, where she was a Girl Scout Leader for many years and started the first Girl Scout Troop at Nativity, and was a member of the United Polish Club Drill Team. She loved the outdoors, gardening and cooking especially Polish dishes.
Survivors included her husband Neville Moore of Lexington, KY, son Edward Partyka of Grandville, Ohio, daughters Laural Turo of Mentor, Ohio, Johanna DiLuciano of Elyria, Ohio, Virginia (Ginger) Meece of Nicholasville, KY and Paula Barnes of Lexington, KY. Other survivors included 17 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, sisters Dorothy Koperdak and Alice Salasovich of Lorain and Phyllis Muzick of Elyria, stepdaughter Jackie Brown of Lexington, KY and stepson Robert Moore of Frankfort, KY. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband Edward Partyke in 1992, parents Felix and Alexandria (Kulas) Januszewski.
A memorial Mass will be Tuesday, October 1st at 11:00 a.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church 418 W. 15th St. Lorain with the Rev. Kevin Shugma, Pastor of St. Stanilaus Church officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
