Otto D. Kuehn Jr., 76, Brakeman
Otto D. Kuehn, Jr. 76, of Lorain died on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, West, in Lorain following an unexpected illness.Mr. Kuehn was born May 20, 1926 in Lorain and was a lifelong resident. He was a Lorain High School graduate class of 1945 B. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII. He retired in 1986 as a brakeman with the Lake Terminal Railroad with 40 years of service. He also served as president of the local Untied Transportation Union before his retirement.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge #552, Golden Agers Bowlers, American Legion Post #12 of Elyria and a life member of the Slovak Club. He was a practical joker and enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and playing cards, especially cribbage.
Mr. Kuehn is survived by his wife Eleanor M. (nee Lowe) Kuehn, to who was married on May 15, 1950, his two daughters, Vickie L. Kerr of Akron, Vanessa D. Sgroi of Rochester, NY, two sons, Bruce S. Kuehn of Sheffield Lake and Bryan M. Kuehn of Lorain, 4 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and his brother Allan Kuehn of Oberlin.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Ann Kuehn in 1967, his parents Otto E. and Kathryn C. (nee Dando) Kuehn, Sr., his brothers Donald & Richard Kuehn.
Friends may call at Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain on Friday, September 27, 2002 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals in Lorain with Chaplain Intern Marty Lynn Forrider officiating.
Otto D. Kuehn will be buried at Resthaven Memory Garden in Avon with American Legion Post 12 of Elyria providing military honors.
