Ora E. White Jr., 50, Welder

Ora E. White Jr., age 50, of Lorain, died Saturday, September 21, 2002 in the intensive care unit of Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center following an illness of six weeks.

Mr. White was born June 22, 1952 in Amherst and had been a life-long resident of Lorain.

He was employed as a welder at the former American Shipbuilding Company in Lorain until the plant's closing in 1982.

He was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed working and riding on his 1961 Pan Head; he also participate din the Bike Week gathering in Daytona Beach, Florida on a number of occasions.

Additional interests included stock car racing; he participated in the late model division at Lorain County Speedway.

Survivors include his son: Christian White of Lorain, one granddaughter, his mother: Lois White (nee Brumback), and by brothers: Robert residing in Florida, and Gerald "Jerry" and Raymond both of Lorain.

He was preceded in death by his father: Ora E. White Sr.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 24, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. James Ols, pastor of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Elyria Township officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
